More than simple
adornment, jewelry gifts from Sobriety Stones have meaning,
intent, or purpose. They remind us of the good in men,
in family and fellowship, in each other, and in ourselves.
They help to remind us and our loved ones of how special we
are. Through family and fellowship, we come to
understand that we are not alone.

Sobriety Stones is symbolic jewelry
based on the ancient meaning of stones, and how they are
applied to the 12 Steps, spiritual practice and
"principles of right living" as suggested in the Big Book
of Alcoholics Anonymous. (and other 12 Step and
Spiritual programs)
One of the reasons I created Sobriety
Stones was to make anniversary jewelry for people in
recovery that didn't have a symbol on it that would
prevent them from wearing it freely to work or church.
The traditional symbols of recovery are so
well known now, with TV and the Internet, that many
people, especially Old Timers and people in business have
gotten away from wearing it in public, (in keeping with
the Anonymous principal).
Also, except for newcomers, many people in
the fellowship with several years have already received
many coffee cups, T-Shirts, and AA Triangle pieces of
jewelry from a sponsee or friend in the fellowship for
anniversaries, Christmas, Birthdays, etc.
So I do not often use the traditional
triangle or squares of "official" AA , NA, or alanon
jewelry.
